A beautiful antique elm seated chair with a spindle back, shaped arms, penny elm seat and four turned legs with stretcher supports. Usually called a penny seat chair due to the distinctive round seat which resembles an old penny coin. Dating from 1890-1910, this lovely old farmhouse chair has an unusual low profile possibly used as a nursing chair or for sitting by the range in a country kitchen. In good, solid condition with signs of wear and great patina. Very comfy.
